As an artist-researcher and educator, I combine creativity with my knowledge of academic research. I produce visually compelling narratives that make complex discussions accessible and impactful.
With a PhD in Education from the University of Glasgow and Master’s degrees in Medical Education and Marketing, I bring a strong academic foundation to my work.
I work as a participatory, arts-based researcher in the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. In this role, I bring experience and expertise in undertaking qualitative research and arts-based methods to understand the lived experiences of marginalised communities.
These components underpin my practice.
My approach is designed to foster reflection, advocacy and systemic change.
Through innovative visual approaches, I make complex narratives accessible, transforming discussions into visuals that enable reflection and deeper understanding.
My process is grounded in respect, ensuring that lived experiences are represented truthfully and sensitively.
Collaboration is at the heart of my approach. By working closely with participants, I ensure their voices shape the visuals, empowering them to actively contribute to both the process and the outcomes.
My visuals are adaptable and refined for diverse uses. Handwritten notes are digitally transformed to maintain their impact across various formats, from reports to social media, whilst preserving the original content.
It is my hope that my visuals inspire action, provoke thought and contribute to meaningful change.
My work is grounded in feminist and intersectional theoretical perspectives. I strive to create useful materials which capture, reflect and communicate lived experience of marginalised groups in powerful, visual ways.
